The Sunnahs of sitting in Salah (prayer) pertain to the postures and actions performed during the sitting positions, including during Tashahhud (testification). Here are 13 Sunnahs of Sitting:

1. Sitting on the Left Foot (Tawarruk) – In the final Tashahhud of certain prayers (like Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha), it is Sunnah to sit with the left foot under the body while the right foot is upright with toes pointing toward the Qibla.
2. Sitting on the Left Foot (Iftirash) in the First Tashahhud – In the first Tashahhud or between the two prostrations, it is Sunnah to sit on the left foot with the right foot upright.
3. Placing the Hands on the Thighs and Knees – Keeping both hands on the thighs or knees in a relaxed manner during the sitting position.
4. Pointing the Index Finger During Tashahhud – Raising the index finger of the right hand during the testimony (Tashahhud) to symbolize the oneness of Allah.
5. Moving the Index Finger Slightly – Moving the index finger slightly when mentioning Allah’s name, as a sign of focus and humility (opinions vary on this practice).
6. Reciting Tashahhud (Testification) – Reciting the Tashahhud with reflection and understanding, acknowledging the oneness of Allah and the Prophethood of Muhammad.
7. Sending Salutations on the Prophet (Durood) – After Tashahhud, it is Sunnah to send blessings and peace upon Prophet Muhammad (Durood or Salat al-Ibrahimiyya).
8. Making Dua After Tashahhud and Durood – Supplicating for oneself, one’s family, and the Muslim community after the final Tashahhud and Durood.
9. Sitting Calmly Between the Two Sujoods – Sitting with tranquility between the two prostrations, not rushing this position.
10. Reciting “Rabbighfir li” – Saying “Rabbighfir li” (O my Lord, forgive me) or similar duas while sitting between the two sujoods.
11. Keeping the Eyes Focused on the Place of Prostration – During all sitting positions, keeping the gaze lowered to maintain humility and focus.
12. Maintaining Stillness and Humility – Sitting with calmness, showing reverence and humility in all sitting postures.
13. Ending with Salam – Concluding the prayer by turning the head to the right and saying “Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah,” followed by the left side.

Observing these Sunnahs during the sitting positions helps in achieving mindfulness, humility, and closeness to Allah in prayer, following the example of Prophet Muhammad.
